"Hello, my names Mike. I was drafted in as a self styled road manager to Fiat Lux in December 1982 as a direct result of the band landing the Blancmange Tour. Previous to this I had acted as a booking agent for a number of Yorkshire musicians, including the FIATs. I was also at Bretton Hall College with Steve and David where I was what they call a mature student.

My diary of events takes up the story from the first date of the Blancmange Tour. Before this Steve and David had made the "Feels Like Winter Again" single with Bill Nelson and had got favourable press and radio coverage with it, which led Neil Arthur and Steven Luscombe to pursue them as a support act for their tour. As I recall it was a last minute affair and they got it because whoever was originally booked dropped out.

Anyway I could sense something happening here and I kept a diary from this day on. Here it is!"
